The Memorial Hospital Foundation's main mission is to cultivate relationships and partnerships within our community to generate financial and related resources to enhance the hospital's capacity to provide quality healthcare.
The Memorial Hospital Foundation was founded in 2002 to support and improve rural healthcare needs of the community. Since conception, the Foundation has raised a total of $1,900,000 in support of The Memorial Hospital. The Foundation is a very active 8-member Board of Directors committed to the continued financial support to TMH. The Foundation continues to emphasize grant writing and outside funding to supplement Foundation funding. We will continue philanthropy through future donors and focus on granting opportunities in equipment and other healthcare needs.
The Memorial Hospital Foundation's major accomplishments include a successful $1.2 million dollar capital campaign in 2005 for a new healthcare facility. To express our thanks, a “Donor Recognition Wall” is displayed in the new hospital’s lobby to recognize the generous contributions that are helping us build a healthier community. Because of the community capital campaign, the Foundation was eligible for funding opportunities that resulted in obtaining the following capital grants for the new facility:
The Memorial Hospital Foundation takes pride in wisely investing your dollars not only in the new hospital building, but also in the equipment that will help to provide the best diagnostics available to patients in our community. To date, your dollars have helped our community hospital in the following ways. In 2008, the Foundation transferred $750,000 to TMH in support of the new building loan. In 2009, the Foundation transferred $330,000 to TMH and funded the state-of-the-art digital mammography machine.
Dear Friends & Donors,
This past year has been an exciting one for The Memorial Hospital Foundation. The Foundation received over $112,000 in donations and contributions in 2013 in support of The Memorial Hospital. Donations have helped provide medical equipment such as contributions towards the Emergency Department Electronic Medical Records, Cardiac ultrasound for the Emergency Department, Orthoscopic knee holder for Orthopedics, Water heating and cooling pumps and pads for Surgery, and sponsored helmet drive.
This year’s TMH Foundation golf tournament was a huge success with a record sell out. The golf tournament’s net profit was $10,000. Proceeds from the tournament were transferred to TMH for the Emergency Department Electronic Medical Record System.
The Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Directors would like to thank all donors for their continued support. Our community is a better and healthier place because of your generous gifts. Your generosity provides the resources necessary to successfully achieve the best healthcare for our community, our families, our children and grandchildren.
Thank you for your support in building a healthy and vital community.
Sue Lyster Chairperson TMH Foundation Board
