physical therapy assistant

Job Summary

Under the supervision and/or direction of the physical therapy department manager, performs various duties in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with the established methods and procedures of the Hospital.

STATUS: Fulltime – Days to include Saturday

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

  • Demonstrates a professional and caring attitude.
  • Ability to work in a variety of therapeutic settings including acute care, out patient and home health.
  • Assess and treat patients in all settings under the supervision of a PT.
  • Ordering assistive devices for patients as needed.
  • Assist Physical Therapist with all aspects of patient care.
  • Patient advocate through health care.
  • Assist PT Coordinator with scheduling, paperwork, phones, etc.
  • Schedule reassessments with the Primary Physical Therapist.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The position requires a full range of body motion and the ability to handle, lift and move patients frequently. The position requires standing for extensive periods of time and corrected vision to normal range. Requires mobility within the department and hospital departments. Requires working under stressful conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have Graduated from an accredited school of P.T.A.
  • Associates Degree
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Valid Colorado Drivers License

Experience Required: - 2 years PTA experience preferred.

SALARY INFORMATION:

Base Rate: - $16.75 DOQ Grade: 18
